55 QUILTS – each made with a purpose!
Quilt making at MLC provides comfort for those in need. A small but mighty group at MLC do colorful work! All 55 handmade quilts are made with a different purpose: some as room dividers, some will even cover a dirt floor. We at Marin Lutheran have been actively involved with this ministry for the past 10 years and we invite you to join us.
Your help is needed! On Thursday, October 17th meet at church at 9am to pack up quilts for delivery by Bev & Jim to the gathering collection center as they begin their journey to join the quilts of other volunteer groups and continue their trip to Lutheran World Relief (LWR). Lutheran World Relief was founded in 1945 to aid in reconstruction post war Europe. Approximately 300,000 quilts per year are donated from volunteers around the United States.
The SERVE & SHARE group meets on the third Thursday of each month throughout the year creating quilts and beautiful crafts which are all given to people in need. Want to know more about the work of this fun & talented group? Contact the church office or Jane McKenzie.
