Our Confirmation Ministry continues this month as we get deeper into the New Testament.  This month we will meet a couple more times on the 14th & 21st from 5:00 to 6:15pm at the church.  Thank you for keeping our six students: Robert, Sammi, Elise, Abby, Lucie and Anita in your prayers.  Please contact Pastor Tom or the church office if you have questions or would like more information about our Confirmation program.

  JULY 24 – 28, 2022 YOUTH GATHERING – Minneapolis, MN

Every three years, 30,000 high school youth and their adult leaders from across the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America gather for a week of faith formation known as the ELCA Youth Gathering. Through days spent in interactive learning, worship, Bible study, service and fellowship, young people grow in faith and are challenged and inspired to live their faith in their daily lives.  All those in 8th through 11th grade are encouraged to start planning on attending!  Youth from Marin Lutheran have been attending this gathering for decades. We will start talking about and planning for our trip this fall.

Our Confirmation program at Marin Lutheran is a three year program designed for youth in the 6th – 8th grades to provide a place for students to:

    • Experience the love and grace of God and develop their own, personal relationship with God.
    • Learn and experience some of the practices of our faith—prayer, meditation.
    • Learn about the Christian, Lutheran faith and to experience religion and faith that is vital in today’s world.
    • Confirmation, not conformation—we strive to give your children the tools they need to confirm their faith, not so much conform to a narrow set of beliefs.

During twice-monthly classes students study: The Old & New Testaments, Martin Luther’s Small Catechism, Lutheran History & Lutheran Living. They attend other houses of worship, serve the hungry, go on retreat and discover that our holy God is unconditionally in love with each one of us.
