God’s blessings to Elise, Abby, Anita & Lucie as they affirmed their faith on Confirmation Sunday on April 21st.  Please keep these youth as well as our second year students: Abby C., Elle T., Josie C., Charlie P. and Anika S.  in your prayers as they learn about our Christian Lutheran faith.

Contact Pastor Tom or the church office if you have questions or would like more information about our Confirmation program.

ELCA National Youth Gathering – 2024

Robert B. will be joining the youth from Elim Lutheran in Petaluma and attending the 2024 Gathering this summer, July 16-20 in New Orleans, LA. The Young Adult Gathering (ages 18-35) will also take place concurrently with the high school Gathering on July 16-20.

The theme for the 2024 Gathering and the Young Adult Gathering is “Created to Be,” centered on Psalm 139:14. Created by the Holy Spirit:

  •   We are created to be brave, to show up with an open mind and heart, willing to be challenged.
  •   We are created to be authentic, to bring our whole selves and know that we are loved by our Creator.
  •   We are created to be free, to be transformed by the gospel.
  •   We are created to be disruptive, to work for justice for all our siblings.
  •   We are created to be disciples, to be sent out into the world to love our neighbor just as we are loved by God.

The host city, New Orleans, has always been its true, authentic self.  The theme, “Created to Be,” highlights the arts, music and soul of this beautiful, vibrant and resilient city. New Orleans was built to host and be a city where all God’s children come together.

Please keep Robert and all the youth attending this year’s gathering in your prayers as they travel and enjoy the 2024 Gathering.

Our Confirmation program at Marin Lutheran is a three year program designed for youth in the 6th – 8th grades to provide a place for students to:

    • Experience the love and grace of God and develop their own, personal relationship with God.
    • Learn and experience some of the practices of our faith—prayer, meditation.
    • Learn about the Christian, Lutheran faith and to experience religion and faith that is vital in today’s world.
    • Confirmation, not conformation—we strive to give your children the tools they need to confirm their faith, not so much conform to a narrow set of beliefs.

During twice-monthly classes students study: The Old & New Testaments, Martin Luther’s Small Catechism, Lutheran History & Lutheran Living. They attend other houses of worship, serve the hungry, go on retreat and discover that our holy God is unconditionally in love with each one of us.
